As small, powerless, alone or pained as you might feel, you can still take effective action – I know that sounds strange, but it’s true.

If you are in immediate danger, you can get emergency help with one or two steps.

For an immediate connection by phone or text with people who care and are trained to help – call the following help-lines. The phone counselors are usually well trained, but it’s always a matter of finding the right fit.

Emergency Services

Go to the Hospital

If you don’t think you’re going to be able to wait any longer and need to be in a safe place, go to the hospital. Get someone to drive you or drive yourself and check yourself in. Services will be in place to keep you safe until you’re feeling ready to leave.

Call 911

If you can’t get yourself to the hospital, call 911. Ask for emergency services to come and help you.

Connect With Someone

Get in touch with a friend, parent, neighbor, coach, teacher, counselor, etc. and just tell them that you need help – now. 

You’re worthy of support and people will support you.  Maybe not everyone, but there will be enough, so reach out to as many as possible.  People may not know exactly what to do to support you, but you can figure it out together.  Just get connected.

This site is not a substitute for emergency services, therapy, counseling or other sources of support.  

It can be part of your support network, but you need to add other elements to that network and quickly.  Just start with one action and see what happens.  If it doesn’t work well, try another action.  There are a bunch of possibilities.
